The Governor of the Souss-Massa region inaugurates the Taghazout Bay Marriott Resort, strengthening the destination’s high‑end tourism offering.

As part of the development momentum the Agadir‑Taghazout tourist destination is experiencing and on the occasion of the summer season launch, Mr. Saïd Amzazi, Wali of the Souss‑Massa region and Governor of the Agadir Ida‑Outanane prefecture, chaired the official inauguration ceremony of the Taghazout Bay Marriott Resort, in the presence of Mr. Karim Achengli, President of the Souss‑Massa Regional Council, the Mayor of the Taghazout municipality, the Director General of the Taghazout Station Development and Promotion Company (SAPST), as well as several institutional, security and tourism‑sector officials.

This five‑star hotel adds a new value to the region’s tourism offering. Situated on the seafront, it has 250 rooms and suites, including 29 suites, and meets Marriott Group’s international standards for hospitality, comfort and service quality.

Realised with an investment of nearly 250 million dirhams by SAPST, a subsidiary of the CDG group through Madaëf, the project forms part of the strategy to strengthen the attractiveness of Taghazout Bay and consolidate its position among the Kingdom’s most coveted tourist destinations.

In his remarks, the Wali highlighted that the opening of this hotel demonstrates the growing confidence of investors and major international brands in the Taghazout Bay destination. He also recalled that the resort welcomed more than 235,000 tourists in 2025 and recorded over one million overnight stays, confirming its strategic role in regional tourism development.

The inauguration of the Taghazout Bay Marriott Resort raises the resort’s accommodation capacity to almost 5,016 beds, about 17 % of the total capacity of the Agadir destination, further enhancing the tourism and economic profile of the Souss‑Massa region.

On this occasion, Mr. Saïd Amzazi praised the commitment of all partners who contributed to this flagship project, notably SAPST, Marriott International, local authorities and the various actors of the tourism sector.
