Abdelhaq Chahli Re‑elected President of ARIHA Souss‑Massa
Gathered in an ordinary and electoral General Assembly on Friday, June 26 2026, at the Les Dunes d’Or hotel in Agadir, the members of the Regional Association of the Hotel Industry of Agadir Souss‑Massa (ARIHA SM) re‑elected Abdelhaq Chahli as the association’s president for a second three‑year term covering 2026‑2029.
This vote signals the confidence and will of professionals to sustain the momentum set in recent years, at a time when the regional hotel industry faces challenges more complex than a simple recovery of activity. The sustainable improvement of offer quality, the upskilling of human resources, the control of operating costs, the acceleration of the environmental transition, the digitalisation of establishments and the adaptation to new tourist expectations now rank among the destination’s main competitiveness pillars.
The Souss-Massa region, bolstered in particular by the destinations of Agadir, Taghazout, Tafraout and Taroudant, is now entering a phase of sustained investment and renewal of its tourism offer. This evolution requires tighter coordination between sector professionals, public authorities and institutional operators to support sustainable growth and strengthen the destination’s attractiveness on national and international markets. Accordingly, Chahli is the leader that is needed.
At the close of the General Assembly, the Executive Board was constituted as follows:
- President: Abdelhaq Chahli.
- Honorary President: Mohamed Chafiq Filali Mahfoud.
- Vice‑President: Mohamed Eddaifi.
- Secretary General: Zakaria El Ouati.
- Deputy Secretary General: Hicham Souiri.
- Treasurer General: Lahcen El Hanaoui.
- Deputy Treasurer General: Larbi Ben Mbarek.
- Assessor: Fatima Zahra Tabit.
- Assessor: Fouad Berrada.
- Assessor: Mourad El Meliani.
Following his re‑election, Abdelhaq Chahli thanked the members for the renewed confidence placed in him. He noted that this new mandate would follow a logic of continuity while emphasizing the structural challenges confronting the regional hotel sector. He also underlined the need to strengthen dialogue with all institutional and professional partners to craft collective responses to the sector’s transformations.
The new Executive Board intends to continue work based on consultation, representation of the profession’s interests and contribution to the major projects of regional tourism. Priorities include strengthening the competitiveness of hotel companies, continuously improving the client experience, supporting investments, showcasing talent and developing more sustainable practices, in line with the national tourism development ambitions for 2030.
This new mandate aims to position ARIHA Souss‑Massa as a proactive, coordinating and dialoguing actor serving a more resilient, innovative and value‑creating hotel industry for the territory.
