Agadir North‑East Ring Road: Third Section Surpasses 30% Completion Mark
The construction of the third phase of the north‑east bypass of Greater Agadir has now exceeded 30 % completion. Integrated into Agadir’s Urban Development Programme launched by King Mohammed VI in February 2020, this flagship project will eventually connect Agadir Al Massira Airport with the commercial port of Agadir, while improving mobility across the metropolitan area.
On the northeast ring‑road construction site in Agadir, public‑works machinery is now operating at full speed. After earthworks, the erection of hydraulic structures and the first civil‑engineering works, the third section of this bypass is gradually taking shape. In the long term, this key infrastructure aims to smooth traffic flow, ease congestion and support the urban and economic development of Greater Agadir.
Stretching 5.2 kilometres, the new section will connect several major road arteries of the agglomeration and will complete the two first sections already in service, which notably provide a link to Agadir Al Massira Airport. It is part of the flagship projects of Agadir’s Urban Development Programme 2020‑2024, unveiled before King Mohammed VI on 4 February 2020 at Place Al Amal.
The project is financed through a partnership that brings together the Ministry of the Interior, the Ministry of Equipment and Water, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Souss‑Massa Regional Council and the Municipality of Agadir. The third and fourth sections are funded with a total envelope of 650 million dirhams covering construction works, technical studies, supervision services as well as land acquisition and other supporting operations.
