Agadir Hosts First U16 Women's Handball World Championship

Sixteen selections divided into four groups will compete at the Al Inbiâat indoor arena in October 2026.

Handball fans' attention will turn to Agadir next October: the capital of Souss will host an unprecedented sporting event, the inaugural edition of the Women's Under‑16 World Cup.

According to the competition’s official poster, the tournament will take place from October 15 to 24, 2026 (Agadir24, however, lists the dates as October 16 and 25).

Sixteen national teams from various continents will participate, divided into four groups, in a competition designed to showcase the rising generation of players.

Agadir was chosen for its sports facilities, foremost among them the indoor Al Inbiâat arena, which is slated to host the bulk of the matches.

The Moroccan team will be present as the host nation, alongside squads such as Germany, Argentina, Switzerland, Russia, Hungary, Belarus, Egypt, Tunisia, Guinea, the United States and Mexico.
