Agadir Ida-Outanane: wali Saïd Amzazi hails the successful organisation of the 23 September ballot

After the official results were proclaimed, the prefecture of Agadir Ida-Outanane closes the electoral chapter and moves from electoral competition to institutional work.

The prefecture of Agadir Ida-Outanane has closed the chapter of the legislative elections, held on Wednesday 23 September, after the completion of the various stages of voting, counting and compilation of the minutes, and the announcement of the official results by the wali of the Souss-Massa region and governor of the prefecture of Agadir Ida-Outanane, Doctor Saïd Amzazi.

This electoral stage was an opportunity to assess the level of organisational and administrative readiness that accompanied the operation, amid the mobilisation of the various departments concerned to ensure the ballot ran in accordance with the legal and regulatory provisions framing the election.

Doctor Saïd Amzazi followed the various stages of the electoral operation, as part of his territorial responsibility, ensuring suitable conditions for the conduct of the ballot and compliance with the rules governing the electoral operation, so that voters could exercise their right to vote in normal conditions.

On presenting the results, the wali of the region affirmed that the electoral operation in Agadir Ida-Outanane took place in an atmosphere marked by discipline, responsibility and smoothness, with its various stages followed by accredited observers.

With the closing of this stage, Agadir Ida-Outanane moves to a new phase, whose main heading is the transition from electoral competition to institutional work, amid growing expectations of the newly elected representatives regarding a number of development, social and economic files of concern to the constituency's population.

The coming phase takes on particular importance given the projects and worksites under way in the city of Agadir and the various areas of the prefecture, as well as the preparations linked to hosting a number of major international events, foremost among them the 2030 World Cup, which requires continued mobilisation and coordination of efforts between the various stakeholders.

With the end of the electoral deadline, the need emerges to turn the page on competition and move to a logic of joint work, by placing the general interest and citizens' expectations at the heart of priorities, and strengthening cooperation between elected representatives, institutions and local actors.

In return, the media and civil society remain two essential partners in accompanying the coming phase, through following the implementation of programmes and projects, raising the issues of concern to citizens, and contributing to anchoring public debate on the record of institutional work.
