SRM Souss-Massa continues its program to install 59 pressure-reducing valves across the drinking water network.

Work is underway in the douar of Aït Oumgas to build a structure housing a pressure-reducing valve, as part of a program involving 59 facilities aimed at improving the drinking-water network.

Excavation work is continuing in the douar of Aït Oumgas for the construction of a technical facility to house a water pressure-reducing valve, as part of a programme implemented by the Souss-Massa Regional Multiservice Company (SRM-SM) to improve the performance of the drinking-water distribution network.

According to data released by the company, the programme provides for the installation of 59 pressure-reducing valves in two phases across the Souss-Massa region, as part of measures launched in 2025 to mitigate the effects of the network’s ageing infrastructure and improve operating conditions.

The programme aims to regulate pressure in distribution pipelines and limit the hydraulic stresses to which certain sections of the network may be exposed, thereby helping to strengthen its stability, improve its efficiency and ensure the long-term sustainability of drinking-water supply services.

According to the company, the work currently under way in Aït Oumgas forms part of its technical interventions to upgrade infrastructure and improve the quality of services provided to citizens.
