The Agadir Ida-Outanane Provincial Directorate launches a week of celebrations marking the first anniversary of Unity Day in schools.

From October 30 to November 5, 2026, schools and second-chance centers in the Agadir Ida-Outanane province will celebrate the first anniversary of Unity Day.

As part of efforts to embed the values of citizenship and strengthen patriotic sentiment among young people, Rachid El Mohammadi, Provincial Director of Education and Training for Agadir Ida-Outanane, sent an official letter to the directors of public and private educational institutions, as well as to the presidents of partner associations managing second-chance centres in the province, announcing the organisation of a “Week Celebrating the First Anniversary of Unity Day.”

The initiative is based on the provincial school-life programme for the 2026–2027 academic year and commemorates the first anniversary of “Unity Day,” officially designated as 31 October each year pursuant to the High Royal Decision. This national event also recalls the decisive advances and historic gains achieved by the national cause following United Nations Security Council Resolution 2797/2025, which formed the core of the Royal Speech delivered on 31 October 2025.

The week-long celebration seeks to draw inspiration from the Royal vision calling for pride in Moroccan identity as a civilisational heritage and a unifying identity; to recall the antiquity of the Moroccan nation and its historic glory; and to educate younger generations about the pride of belonging to their homeland and their loyalty to its symbols and enduring principles.

The activities for this educational event will take place from 30 October to 5 November 2026. The provincial programme provides for daily educational and awareness-raising activities within schools and second-chance centres, with the aim of strengthening patriotic spirit and deepening pride in the Kingdom’s authentic identity.

The provincial letter also emphasises the obligation to organise a unified activity on Friday, 30 October 2026, in accordance with the framework annexed to the memorandum. The Provincial Director called on all administrative and educational staff to take the necessary measures to implement these guidelines, inviting them to document the activities and submit to the Educational Affairs Department and the School-Life Office a comprehensive, illustrated evaluation report on the success of this important national milestone.
