Taghazout Surf Expo: More Than 80 Exhibitors and 40,000 Visitors Expected for the 5th Edition

Wali Saïd Amzazi and Regional Council President Karim Achengli inaugurated the fifth edition of the Taghazout Surf Expo on October 22, 2026. The event is being held at Anchor Point through October 25.

Mr Saïd Amzazi, Wali of the Souss-Massa region and Governor of Agadir Ida-Outanane Prefecture, accompanied by Mr Karim Achengli, President of the Souss-Massa Regional Council, presided over the official opening on Thursday, October 22, 2026, of the fifth edition of the “Taghazout Surf Expo,” held at the “Anchor Point” site in the commune of Taghazout from October 22 to 25.

The event is being organised as part of efforts to showcase the natural and tourism assets of the Souss-Massa region and enhance its appeal as a prime destination for surfing. It also aims to diversify the regional tourism offering, support local economic activity, create new opportunities for economic integration and encourage youth initiatives.

This edition is being organised in partnership with several institutions and professional stakeholders, with contributions from the Royal Moroccan Surfing Federation, the Moroccan National Tourism Office, the Souss-Massa Regional Tourism Development Company and the regional development company “Smart Tourism.” This reflects the importance of coordination and complementarity among the various stakeholders in promoting sports tourism and strengthening the region’s position among tourism destinations with national and international reach.

The expo brings together more than 80 exhibitors and is expected to attract around 40,000 visitors. Its programme includes a series of professional activities and workshops aimed at encouraging the exchange of expertise and experience, developing partnership and cooperation opportunities, and exploring prospects for innovation in the various fields related to surfing and its culture.

The event also provides an opportunity to strengthen Moroccan-French cooperation in surfing and exchange expertise in maritime rescue, with the support of the Australian Embassy. It will also include discussions on the proposed creation of a “Surf Spaces in Morocco” label, as well as meetings and workshops bringing together international tour operators and accommodation professionals from the region. These initiatives are expected to open up new prospects for developing professional partnerships, promoting the Souss-Massa destination and expanding investment opportunities, particularly for young people.
