Agadir: The Two Mohammed VI University Hospitals Strengthen Coordination to Improve Patient Care

Mohammed VI University Hospital for Specialties and the Mohammed VI University Hospital for Mothers and Children in Agadir held a coordination meeting dedicated to patient care and user reception.

As part of efforts to consolidate the principles of good governance and strengthen participatory management mechanisms, the Mohammed VI University Hospital for Specialties and the Mohammed VI University Hospital for Mother and Child Care in Agadir, both under the Souss-Massa Regional Health Group, held a coordination meeting focused on improving patient care conditions and the quality of service provided to users.

The meeting was attended by Professor Abdelkarim El Kharroubi, director of the Mohammed VI University Hospital for Specialties, the director of the Mohammed VI University Hospital for Mother and Child Care in Agadir, as well as the heads of surgical departments, the various specialties concerned and head nurses. The initiative reflects the importance of institutional coordination and teamwork in improving the performance of healthcare facilities and meeting the expectations of patients and their families.

The discussions focused on ways to strengthen coordination between medical and nursing teams and improve the internal organization of the departments concerned, with particular emphasis on streamlining patient pathways, facilitating the management of medical records and enhancing information-sharing among the various stakeholders. The aim is to ensure continuity of care and smooth patient transfers through the different stages of treatment.

The meeting also provided an opportunity to hear healthcare professionals’ concerns and review the constraints they face in managing their daily work, as well as to discuss practical proposals to overcome the difficulties raised and improve working conditions, thereby enhancing the quality of healthcare services.

In this context, participants underscored the need to establish a culture of communication and dialogue among the various components of the healthcare system, while strengthening a spirit of shared responsibility and complementarity of roles. These are essential pillars for ensuring effective management and improving the patient experience at both facilities, while safeguarding patients’ dignity and meeting their health and human needs.

The organization of the meeting reflects the commitment of Agadir’s two Mohammed VI university hospitals to adopting a participatory approach based on listening and on-the-ground coordination, with a view to strengthening good governance and embedding the continuous improvement of healthcare service quality.

The initiative is part of efforts to improve the performance of hospital facilities under the Souss-Massa Regional Health Group and strengthen confidence in the public healthcare service by developing management methods, improving reception and care conditions, and placing patients at the heart of concerns and priorities.
